UMUKOZO Festival

The whole world in general has a population very inspired to practice the cultures of folk and emblematic dances which means a lot to meet to share the experience on the same stage with the common goal of valuing our beautiful cultures.

In addition, the socio-economic and cultural situation has generally deteriorated for some time following the lack of socio-cultural events in some localities around the world, including Burundi. This increases the vulnerability of young people to political manipulation and, indeed, cases of political violence involving young people remain relatively frequent. Such a situation can only be accentuated in social cohesion.

Faced with such a situation, the cultural operators of Burundi, including AKARANGA Entertainment, play an important role from which it contributes in particular to the consolidation of peace and the enhancement of our cultures by carrying out cultural activities of education in good, more responsible behavior and non-violence in order to contribute to the promotion of the socio-cultural values of the world and to social cohesion.

This initiative aims to “enhance Burundian art and culture within the Burundian population but also to further integrate it into the East African Community” Thus, the population will have to be sensitized through artistic and cultural activities in in order to encourage them to be actors of peace and adopt a positive change in terms of social cohesion at the regional level.

A variety of regional arts and cultures will be animated and the activities will take place in a joint way with folk groups and other singers of traditional music around the themes of social cohesion. The fight against the COVID 19 pandemic will also be a priority. The main goal will also be to give a new image of our world through these artistic and cultural activities.

It is in this context that AKARANGA Entertainment would like to contribute its initiative in the life of the country by organizing this international festival every year.
